Baltic Aviation Academy’s News Overview
Throughout 2011 the number of aviation training instructors in Baltic Aviation Academy increased by 50%. Baltic Aviation Academy (BAA) signed partnership contracts with 42 new type rating instructors and 8 Ab initio instructors. The final list can be found in the training manual approved by the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Authority and contains the names of 150 instructors.
Baltic Aviation Academy has observed, that the average number of training requests the academy received from self-sponsored pilots in 2011 was 120% higher than in 2010. Most queries in 2011 came from India, followed by Western European countries: Italy, France, Portugal and Spain.The Airbus A320 type rating training program was the most popular one with 38% of applicants, The Boeing 737 came second with 29%, the ATR 42/72 training – 10%, Boeing 747, Boeing 757, Boeing 767 and Boeing 777 families – 8% while other types of training captured the attention of 15% of the remaining applicants.
On the 2nd of February, at 6 PM EET (GMT+2) the aviation training centre will deliver a webinar presentation for commercial aviation pilots-beginners. This time Ausra Garuckaite, the Self Sponsored Pilots Manager at Baltic Aviation Academy will present the topic “Hunting a Pilot Job – an Interview with an Airline”, which may be accessed by registering via email: a.garuckaite@balticaa.com and later will be submitted to Youtube.com/marketingbaa channel.
“Although future forecasts for pilot job market are promising, finding the first job is still an issue for many. This can be well-reflected in the number of inquiries we receive: in 70% of all email inquiries self-sponsored pilots ask for a help in finding a job. Therefore, I have decided to provide as many tips as possible to help self-sponsored pilots in their job search” said Ausra Garuckaite. Baltic Aviation Academy‘s survey has revealed that an astonishing 80% of all 20 airline transport pilot course students have been actively using the Microsoft Flight Simulator. The respondents indicated numerous advantages: the simulator was very helpful in getting acquainted with the instruments, introduced its users to procedure processes and helped them to familiarize with the general handling of an aircraft. As the cons of using the simulator concern, the respondents highlighted the possible addiction to the simulator program that might result in turning the users into a ’nolifers‘.
Kyrgyzstan Civil Aviation Authority has issued to Baltic Aviation Academy an approval certificate to operate the type rating training on Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator (FFS). Baltic Aviation Academy has been earlier approved by Civil Aviation Authorities of Kazakhstan and Ukraine to conduct Boeing 737 type rating training.
