Visual System Upgrade for B737 Full Flight Simulator
Baltic Aviation Academy (BAA) provided a complete visual system upgrade for the B737-300-400-500 Full Flight Simulator located in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The simulator was fitted with a 3 channel RASTER/XT PC Image Generator and LCoS Projectors, replacing the existing legacy IG and projectors.
The existing optical system was also extended from 150 degrees to 180 degrees, and updated with a new Back Projection Screen, to meet the latest JAR FSTD standards.
For upgrading the visual system Texas based company RSI-Visual Systems, which engineers have worked with most major airlines on every type of fixed wing aircraft, was contracted.
RSI's large library of Level D Airport Databases, all maintained to real-world data, with Geo-Specific Terrain Imagery, at the moment provide accurately detailed environments for ground and flight training on this simulator.
,,Now our simulator screen has such a high resolution you can believe this Heathrow in snow or Riga in rain is actually a real city you see from your cockpit not a 3d model rendered in a simulator. Less headache for the engineers and more wows from the customers”,- ,,Baltic Aviation Academy” engineer Steponas Stankevicius told with a smile.
