BAA Is to Offer Zero Flight Time Training
Baltic Aviation Academy is in the process to offer Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT) program.
Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT) refers to the training given on an aircraft type rating course that is carried out entirely in a simulator. This method of training is not available for every pilot. The high regulatory standard is mostly oriented to already experienced pilots and lets them to convert to an aircraft type of similar characteristics to that already operated by the use of high-quality flight simulation.
After ZFTT conversion, the pilot's first flights in the aircraft itself may be on revenue flights under the supervision of an already-qualified training captain. ZFTT applies to Full Flight Simulators of the higher international regulatory Levels C and D. In order to be eligible to conduct ZFTT, the training organization needs to comply with a number of requirements. CAA Approval is required to conduct such training courses.
“At the moment we are waiting for the final approvals with all the team very eager to take-off. Introducing zero flight time training will help experienced pilots that visit our center faster convert to an aircraft type similar to that they have already been operating. To tell this in human language, moving from “Audi A7” to “Audi A8” will be faster and cheaper.”,- commented Dainius Meilunas, Deputy General Director for Training at Baltic Aviation Academy.
