Airbus Increases Projection for Upcoming Airline Growth
Airbus has increased its forecast for worldwide demand for passenger and cargo airliner purchases. The company now sees the demand for nearly 26,000 new passenger and cargo aircraft over the next 20 years. This forecast includes an addition of nearly 1,000 more aircraft purchases above their previous forecast.
Airbus now sees that the economic recovery is stronger than previously predicted. The smaller airline category is especially strong, according to Airbus. Emerging economies are leading the recovery with the airline traffic growth in India being particularly strong. According to Airbus, 1/3 of all worldwide passenger traffic will be generated in the Asia Pacific region by the year 2029.
